INTERVIEW

How did you get into the world of Arts?
I paint and draw before I even learn to write, so I always saw myself as an artist.

What do you understand by Fine Arts?
Expression through shapes, colors, volumes and textures.

How do you define your Art?
I am still defining it… maybe one day I will be able to define it, but today it is a mix between sculpture and painting that oscillates between figurative and abstract.

What are your biggest references in the world of Arts?
Without a doubt, Pollock.

What are the main themes used in your works? Why?
The spirituality. However, beyond this theme, I like the fact that the viewer can pick up the work and feel it with their hands. I seek to interact beyond the visual image.

What are the main techniques used in your work? And which ones do you like to use the most?
In sculpture, terracotta. In painting on canvas, the volumes of fiberglass and resin that bounce off the canvas. In the engravings, I like the oil pastel.

What do you seek to convey through your works to the viewer?
An interaction with the spectator that goes beyond the visual. I also like to use symbols and hidden knowledge so that the viewer can feel the message, even without knowing the meanings.

What are the best and biggest experiences in your artistic career?
My individual exhibitions, as I was able to better observe the reactions of the spectators.
But also participation in group exhibitions such as: 1st visual arts salon in Nova Petrópolis, May 2017 at Espaço Mais Cultura Professor Renato Seibt; Collective of visual artists Gramadenses Eighth edition, July 2017 at Centro de Cultura Municipal de Gramado; Benefit auction held in Gramado at Galeria Arte 12B with the aim of raising funds for the reconstruction of a school in São Francisco de Paula, in July 2017; Tridimensional III, a sculpture exhibition promoted by AEERGS, in September 2017 at the Gramado Municipal Culture Center; Exhibition Encounters Proximais through the Chico Lisboa Foundation, in October 2019, in Porto Alegre – RS; among others.

Is there an aspect of protest in your work beyond what is obviously seen? If yes, which one? If not, is there a topic that arouses your desire to protest?
Making the viewer reflect on their relationship with God is the biggest protest for me.

Are you interested in doing a traveling exhibition? If yes, how do you envision this exhibition? Could you tell me which topic you would like to address?
I would like. The theme would be my Genesis series.

Where do you want to go as an artist?
Being able to express myself freely and sell my art to maintain this state of connection with the divine in my life.
